“Elmyra is from Russia. She has a guinea pig and she would like to concentrate more on acting. She no longer searches. The things that are meant for her will always flow to her. She will never need to force them or change herself to attain them and there are going to be a thousand separate heavens, for all of her separate parts.”
Becoming Monsters is a contemporary dance piece that dives into the questions of humanity, power, desire, hope and faith that are driven and governed by endless promises and utterances of a better tomorrow. In this piece, the stage functions as a ritual on which a field of absurd and poetic bodily conversation is built. A live human sea whispers, destroys, fixes, rearranges, falls apart and changes shapes in order to survive. The piece paints its portrait and itself endlessly by means of movement, words and theatre. Becoming Monsters places itself in front of us, around us, and might even live within us already.
